In November 2023, I attended the Future of Festivals event, which provided an incredible opportunity to network and connect with new contacts in the festival industry. During the event, I met some truly wonderful people and expanded my professional circle significantly. Sometimes, it’s funny how people from Cologne need to travel all the way to Berlin to meet fellow Cologne residents.
Future of Festivals: “Green Toolkit Goes Festival”
The highlight of my experience at the Future of Festivals was the introduction of the “Green Toolkit” to the festival scene. This initiative aims to promote sustainable practices within festival operations, aligning with the growing trend towards eco-friendly events. It was a privilege to be part of this movement, thanks to my colleague Daniele Murgia, who not only facilitated my networking opportunities but also spearheaded our participation in this significant event.
The atmosphere at the festival was vibrant and filled with innovative ideas aimed at transforming the festival industry. From discussions on sustainable logistics to eco-friendly waste management solutions, the event was a melting pot of green innovations.
